wHITE WORK

WHITE WORK is an ongoing series of hand-made fabric sculptures by Mark Mitchell addressing white supremacy, racism, and mass incarceration. Begun in 2014, the work uses intensive embroidery, knitting, and textile techniques to give political and personal weight to objects made by hand. This is a heritage of patient craftsmanship where detail carries meaning.
